CHAPTER 1:
HOW IT STARTED

Mackenzie and Jordan met in early 2019 while they worked at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in neighbouring departments. After months of pretending not to notice each other, they finally struck up a conversation one evening in March at the Lake Louise colleague pub, quickly bonding over their mutual passion for nature and the outdoors.

Their early dates were filled with adventure - camping in the back of Jordan's car, hiking mountains, and driving to Banff for sweet treats.

Chapter 2:
FALLING IN LOVE

That year, the couple created countless unforgettable memories. Attending their first wedding together, being each others date for the Lake Louise Christmas Gala and exchanging "I love yous" on the shores of Moraine Lake.

Their love was blossoming and life was perfect, they couldn't wait to see what 2020 had in store for them...

Chapter 3:
Getting Serious

When Covid-19 hit, Mackenzie and Jordan found themselves among the few still living in Lake Louise during the pandemic. As each other's cohort, they spent all their time together, deepening their connection and forming an unbreakable bond.

The pandemic only enhanced their relationship as they continued their mountain adventures and took a big step by moving into a studio together in Banff.

Chapter 4:
Growing Together

Over the next several years, their relationship continued to flourish as the couple created many special memories together.

Mackenzie and Jordan finally had the chance to embrace their shared love for travel. They embarked on a Thompson family trip to Maui, explored New York City with friends, and enjoyed multiple getaways to Kelowna and Vancouver to visit old pals. Weekends were filled with hiking and camping trips across the wild west. Roadtrips down to Yellowstone and Glacier National Park and backcountry camping in some of Alberta's most scenic mountains.

The couple continued to support each other's dreams as Mackenzie set out on a new career path, Jordan got promoted and they both decided to return to school.

Chapter 5:
The Engagement

In July 2023, Jordan had an epiphany while flying home from Vancouver. He could not wait to get back home to Mackenzie and realized this was the girl he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

He bought a ring the next week and planned an impromptu photoshoot on top of a mountain for later in August. Miraculously, Mackenzie did not suspect a thing.
